About the owner - Darian Bentley:
Gardening is my passion. I’ve been working in the landscaping industry since I was 14 on summer breaks. However my interest for gardening started at much younger age in my grandparents garden. I’m a proud father to a beautiful baby girl. After high school I took my formal horticultural training at the HCP. Since college I honed my skills working with some of the best Landscaping companies in Victoria. Learning from elder Portuguese Stone masons and Master Landscapers along the way. I started off on my own more than 7 years ago and It has been fantastic. I have a wonderful vegetable garden at my home. That’s where I spend most of my leisure time, growing food for my family.
My personal design Philosphy
The name “Vision Landscaping” often attracts two types of clients: those who have a clear vision for their outdoor space and are looking for a professional to execute it well, and those who are looking for a designer with vision to help them create their dream outdoor space.
When given creative freedom I like to incorporate elements from my own personal design philosophy.
I take a balanced approach to landscape design, with an emphasis on creating landscapes that are both beautiful and functional. I strive to incorporate plants with purpose, such as edible berry bushes and kitchen herbs, to create outdoor spaces that can generate food with minimal input, as well as using native plants that are adapted to the local climate to reduce the need for water and other resources, supporting local ecosystems and biodiversity as well as reducing maintenance costs.
While to the trained eye, my landscapes incorporate plants that can provide food and kitchen herbs, to the everyday person, they simply look like a beautiful landscape.
One of the key elements of my design is to incorporate evergreen plants, which provide year-round visual interest and texture. These plants help to create a sense of continuity throughout the seasons and provide structure to the garden. A well designed landscape should provide unique interest throughout every season.
My approach to landscape design is guided by permaculture principles, which focus on creating sustainable and regenerative ecosystems. I believe that by using natural systems and processes, I can create landscapes that are self-sustaining and resilient, requiring less maintenance.
I also aim to reconnect people with nature and the natural world by creating outdoor spaces that people can interact with and that have purpose. My landscapes are designed to be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their level of horticultural knowledge, and to foster a connection with the natural world.
As a landscape designer, my goal is to create outdoor spaces that have strong positive impacts on people’s lives and the world, by promoting sustainability and permaculture practices, fostering connection to nature and providing people with joy via stunning features throughout every season.
